JJ Watt replaces Romo at CBS

Tony Romo will be replaced in the CBS Sports booth by an NFL legend for the time being.

After being arrested recently on suspicion of operating a vehicle while under the influence, CBS announced Friday that the former Cowboys great was being placed “until further notice.”

The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand reported Friday that JJ Watt is being tapped to replace Romo in the CBS booth alongside Jim Nantz.

Watt played 12 dominant years in the NFL before becoming a broadcaster, and will now be part of CBS Sports’ top NFL broadcasting team.

Against The SpreadSeason doesn't begin for 6 weeks. CBS paid a fortune to broadcast the NFL. If Watt doesn't move the needle during the preseason, Romo will have dramatically and magically completed his rehab just in time for Week 1 regular season games.
