Slow Ventures and Apeiron Investment Group led Steven.com’s round. Philipp Freise (KKR), Second Sight Ventures, Tom Profumo (Active Partners), Magnus Grimeland (Antler), Gary Vaynerchuk, Kevin Rose (founder of Digg), Will Ahmed (Founder of Whoop), Bryan Johnson, Alex Hormozi, and Codie Sanchez also participated in the round, which brings the company’s total valuation to $425 million.
The round also reportedly makes history as the most significant funding for a European creator holding company, per the release.
“By bringing together creator IP, capital and our infrastructure, Steven.com is positioning itself to lead in the next era of the creator economy,” Bartlett said in a press release.
“My ultimate ambition is to build the Disney of the creator economy – and the strategic partners this funding round has brought on board has enabled me to take a big step in that direction,” he continued.
In the Instagram post, Bartlett reflected that a $100 investment in a mic changed his life. He purchased the mic back in 2017, and this led to the inception of “The Diary Of A CEO,” which has more than 13 million subscribers (at the time of this writing), 70 million monthly views/downloads, and over 1 billion views on YouTube, according to the news release.
